Associate Director, IT DELIVERY AREAR&D

Mission

The main mission is to lead and execute strategic IT programs that improve the capabilities and performance of R&D, using the own Service Delivery team or coordinating resources from the associated IT department and external partners. In addition, it seeks to integrate business processes leveraging existing and new technology to meet specific business needs, with close alignment with business, technical, and development architects. It also aims to maximize R&D data analytics capabilities and converge with Data science departments.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Change via technology: Serve as point of contact with IT Business Partner of the respective business area. Translate business needs into effective and/or improved processes and/or technical solutions. Promote opportunities for applying technology to business problems. Ensure the department holds a good understanding of the Business processes and the technical solutions that support the respective business area. 
  • Direct the planning phase of IT projects and manage the IT portfolio for the respective business area: Manage team capacity to ensure that business objectives are met, resources are properly used, and risks are managed. Ensure all requests are documented, screened and schedules according to designated priorities. Maximize the use of Agile delivery practices to become a transparent and trusted partner for business stakeholders. Ensure effective project mandate is developed. Full responsibility to manage the operational expense budget to support the delivery services. System and server obsolescence management in close coordination with IT Business Partner and Business priorities
  • Oversee project execution and day-to-day operations: Ensure resources, either internal from associated IT Department or external are secured to meet business demands. Ensure high level of quality in solutions is delivered. Ensure compliance with Regulatory standards, particularly in GXP environments and implement best practices for data security and data integrity. 
  • People Management:  Monitor team performance and report on metrics. Create development plans for each team member.  Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture. Motivate team members. Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.
     

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, industrial engineering, business administration or closely related discipline.

Experience

  • More than 8 years of experience in R&D application development, project management and process design, and system validation practices with direct exposure to Business
  • Experience leading teams 
  • Experience in delivery of projects for R&D like pipeline management, Biological entities registration system, Protocols for biological properties, molecular insilico calculations mgmt, compounds& reagents inventory mgmt, open innovation platform, analytical & visualization tools for chemical + biological results, Toxicology prediction tools, LIMs, ELN, Empower, Lab-X, Clinical Trial Management system, digital tools to visualize&analyze clinical operations & trial data, Regulatory Information Management System, adverse events management, electronic dossiers management or similar.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry with exposure & biologic products and GxP compliance. 
  • Market vision for solutions and trends within the pharma or chemical sector 
  • Experience in cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.

Specific Knowledge

  • Deep Pharma knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Biologics development Biotech industry and medical dermatology will be a plus
