Mission

The successful candidate will lead the life cycle & innovation strategy in the local Spanish affiliate to ensure the growth of Almirall’s portfolio in the market as well as to elaborate value propositions and innovative services for our customers. A key responsibility will be to gain a strategic 360º vision of the market trends, in order to identify pre-commercial and commercial products, as well as influencing to gain internal endorsement, and leading the transversal teams to execute the projects. 

This position reports directly into the HC Marketing Direction of the Spanish market company.

Tasks and responsabilities

  • Manage the life cycle management strategy for each category (Rx + OTC), together with the multidisciplinary brand teams. This implies a comprehensive market understanding to identify key market trends and unmet needs, and requires a deep strategic vision to also anticipate trends and connect insights to have a clear market vision.
  • Lead and coordinate internally together with the Marketing and Medical teams the screening and selection of opportunities for local business development, especially in OTC and GPs areas. Through 2 major channels:
  • Portfolio Change Planning: identification of external innovation for current existing categories to manage the life cycle of the OTC products
  • M&A Corporate Development: scouting of products already in the market (OTC and Rx) and products under development for Prescription or OTC and potential companies in the OTC business.
  • Drive innovation for the main categories within the OTC and Prescription business, including new products but also innovative services that will strategically build on Almirall positioning towards our customers and will strengthen our differentiation.
  • Lead and coordinate the transversal teams in charge of developing the selected life cycle management projects; ensuring fulfilments of commercial needs and best time to market.
  • Support the leading departments (PCP, Corporate Development) in project execution as needed, as well as support internal decision-making including business cases elaboration, due diligence participation, and preparation of documents for senior management and participation in meetings during approval process. Influencing key stakeholders to manage commitments will be key.
  • Primary point of contact within the Market Company for local evaluation of BD opportunities and Market Company input into Contracts, as needed
  • Develop a systematized market& customers insights generation system, that would allow to integrate several sources of information and take informed decisions to support a strategic vision integrated into our PH and PR business.

Education

  • University degree in Marketing, Business, Pharmacy or a comparable degree.
  • MBA or similar is of added value

Specific Knowledge

  • In depth understanding of the Spanish market, Pharma market trends and competitive landscape
  • Ability to generate high quality market analysis and define strategic plans, with a forward looking perspective

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in a Strategic department in a pharmaceutical setting; in-house or from a consultancy (knowledge in pharmacies and prescription field)
  • xperience with corporate departments, promoting cross collaboration in different areas
