Serialization & Master Data Specialist

This role is focused on two main functions interconnected: Serialization operations and master data.

•    Assure timely, cost-efficient and compliant serialization activities at corporate level aligned with market requirements aligning serialization operations end to end. As well as the implementation of new capabilities when externally required or for a continuous improvement.

•    Assure timely, efficient and compliant management of supply chain Master Data in Almirall focus on product entity, coordination and supporting the process in all affected areas and systems.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The role will mix maintenance activities specific for serialization and master data but also this role will be responsible for the reporting of the activities and for the design and implementation of new processes or improvements in the current processes.


Focus on Serialization Operations:

•    Coordinate serialization activities with internal manufacturing sites, CMO’s, partners, reporting organizations and other external stakeholders.

•    Responsible for serialization Level 4 system. Managing operations and master data, as well as external reporting.

•    Creation of global standards for serialization and supporting other company processes impacted by serialization.

•    Consolidation of serialization market requirements

•    Coordinate companywide serialization improvements and activities.

•    Continuous improvement of serialization operations and design and implementation of new processes.

Focused on supply Chain Master Data:

•    Maintain current centralized master data:

•    Coordinates Product (and materials) domain in SAP in maintenance activities

•    Maintenance or support in other systems of product master data.

•    Orsoft maintenance and coordination for master data processes.

•    Product codification standards definition and maintenance, GS-1, etc.

•    Keep material-view pattern updated for all combinations of type of material, sales organization, plant/center, purchase organization and cost area.


Degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or similar technical education. 


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in Master data. 
  • Experience in operations and supply chain.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry.

Specific Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of SAP R/3. Wide functional SAP knowledge
  • Knowledge of GS-1 standards
  • Basic knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance regulations (GxP, ICH, FDA, etc.), financial regulation (SCIIF) and other regulations affecting operations.
  • Advance capabilities in project management
  • Serialization pharma systems: Tracelink, or others.
  • Advanced user Microsoft Office and similar tools, including Power BI
  • Programming skills (Python, SQL,…)
  • English business level.
