Mission

Assure timely, cost-efficient and compliant implementation of packaging/artworks changes and launches through the planning, coordination, execution and monitoring of change-related activities; in compliance with market, regulatory and GxP requirements and in alignment to the corporate visual identity set up for packaging. As well as lead key packaging and artworks processes and initiatives establishing best practices and reference processes regarding packaging and artworks.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders the implementation of packaging/artworks changes to achieve the required due date by defining the best cost effective strategy to reduce the generation of stock-outs, obsolete materials, global number of changes, etc.
  • Managing and monitoring the packaging change process within the Artworks management system, keeping every stakeholder informed of the progress or delays that may occur.
  • Responsible for creation or modification of packaging artworks. Directly creating packaging artworks or coordinating the design and artworks agencies, assuring that all artworks are aligned with regulatory, technical and marketing requirements while following the Company packaging guidelines.
  • Lead packaging guidelines application and maintenance within the company as well the corporate repository and artworks database.
  • Lead artworks packaging activities in new product launches and filings.
  • Lead artworks and packaging processes in Almirall through process improvements, trainings, establish reference models, etc.
  • Support and drive continued innovation, while in adherence to brand guidelines. Understanding the relation between packaging, product and processes to align all from operational and non-operational areas, promoting global coordination in packaging design from the development to the market continuous improvement.
  • Understand that packaging is a key sales vehicle and design with the consumer needs in mind
  • Bring packaging newness to our product innovations while staying true to heritage facets of our brand identity
  • Provides critical thinking on new designs and technology in place of strategic direction for potential new packaging solutions and technologies
  • Develop initiatives to improve the sustainability of the packaging and assure the best design for new packaging from a sustainability point of view. 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Design or Engineering with minor in Business/Marketing.

Specific Knowledge

  • 7 years of relevant work experience in marketing, design, operations and/or project management. And strong understanding or experience in the pharmaceutical industry will be preferrable. 
  • Packaging and artworks process experience from the design to the printing process.
  • Master user of MAC environment, Adobe suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.). Artioscad and 3d printing technology.
  • Knowledge of artworks format standards and PDF formats as PDF/X
  • In-depth knowledge of graphics, typography, print and package production specifications/processes and packaging functions, from the design process to the prepress processes, including packaging requirements in Pharma manufacturing process.
  • Proficient in industry standard, branding and design applied to packaging
  • Basic knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance regulations (GxP, ICH, FDA, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of operations processes.
  • Advanced user Microsoft Office and similar tools.
  • Fluency in English and a basic level of Spanish. 

Experience

  • Experience in marketing, design, operations and/or project management. 
  • Understanding or experience in the pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
  • Packaging and artworks process experience from the design to the printing process.
