Mission

The successful candidate will ensure that clinical, economic, and societal perspectives are included in Almirall´s R&D approach. A key responsibility will be that the market access requirements of key markets (EU and US) are addressed in pivotal trials. The scope includes molecules in development from pre-clinical to phase IIIa. In addition, the successful candidate will be part of the team representing the Global Market Access department in R&D, the Portfolio review, and New Product Planning activities. He/she will join a company with a diverse product pipeline and join a highly qualified Global Market Access team with stimulating professional challenges in a pleasant working atmosphere. The position is located at the company’s headquarters in Barcelona.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Represent Global Market Access in R&D, the Portfolio review and Product Planning activities.
  • Ensure payers’ perspectives and requirements are included in strategic R&D planning for products from pre-clinical development through completion of phase IIIa.
  • Defend the importance of the inclusion of market access criteria to internal decision makers and ensure potential trade-offs are considered.
  • Assess pricing potential and market access opportunities/risk for molecules in clinical development.
  • Develop mitigation plans for anticipated market access risks.
  • Create payer value messages and communication plans with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work together with internal & external stakeholders to identify key areas to develop future products.
  • Gather relevant market access information from key markets and competitors across dermatologic indications, including rare diseases and orphan drugs.
  • Keep updated and on top of trends and developments in pricing and reimbursement in key markets.

Education

  • University degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, Economics or a comparable degree.
  • Master’s in health economics, Market Access, Business Administration or a comparable degree is desirable.

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in Market Access and/or +2 years in business analytics / strategic consulting positions in an international environment in life sciences
  • Understanding of payer requirements from an evidence generation perspective
  • Capacity to manage several projects with competing priorities
  • Ability to generate high-quality projects and strategic planning.
  • Analytical problem solver.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required, additional language(s) would be a plus.
