IT Business Process Manager - Digital Lab

Mission

Almirall is looking for a Senior professional expert to transform Industrial laboratories and the utilization of lab instruments. This senior role will report directly to the IT Delivery Associate Director, who oversees the delivery of all Industrial applications.
•    Holds the responsibility of System Owner of the IT systems assigned to him/her.
•    Analyses the organization and designs the technical systems and processes. Supports the business management to design business models and strategic business needs. 
•    Maximizes the value the IT solutions provide to the business, defining best practices and ensuring they are correctly adopted.
•    Responsible to define the way the IT systems will support the Business processes defined by the BPOs, either within projects or enhancements. 
•    Ensure applications work efficiency and meet the performance expectations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Operational
•    Implement and manage lab information systems to ensure efficient and effective use of technology.
•    Optimize workflows by integrating lab instruments with IT systems, reducing manual processes and errors.
•    Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards for data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
•    Provide technical support to laboratory staff, addressing issues related to software, hardware, and instrument interfaces.
•    Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in laboratory informatics to recommend improvements and innovations.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT solutions with business objectives, ensuring that technology investments deliver maximum value.
•    Train and guide laboratory personnel in the use of IT systems and tools to enhance productivity and data quality.
•    Ensure demand is gathered from the Business Process owners and prioritized accordingly. 
•    Identify areas of improvement and increase efficiency of implemented processes.
•    Determine project requirements by extracting them from business through interaction and research.
•    Translate business requirements to technical/functional requirement and organize them into related categories.
•    Review, simplify and verify requirements at regular intervals in the project/enhancement lifecycle to safeguard the business and the user’s needs, emphasizing simplicity and ease of use at all time.
•    Ensure documentation and knowledge transfers to Application maintenance outsourced provider.
•    Coordinate and work with development teams to ensure proper understanding and programming of the business requirements.

Communication
•    Active listening to the business to understand the business requirements. 
•    Provide the development team the technical requirements in line with business objectives.
•    Lead Business meetings and workshop to enable proper requirement gathering and reach agreements Business counterparts.
•    Lead design and implementation of the business process under the area of responsibility, adding value and ensuring proper integration. 
•    Proactive collaboration with required work teams
•    Maintain proper relationship with suppliers’ collaboration in the area of responsibility.

Business
•    Works with Business Process Owners and key users to create and maintain an operating plan to achieve the strategic vision and operating platform that defines the people, processes, tools, and technology.
•    Change Management with Business counterparts to ensure proper adoption of new processes.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or closely related discipline.

Experience

•    At least 5 years of experience in:
o    Manage projects having a high impact across the 6 change dimensions (process, organization, location, data, application, technology)
o    IT application development, and process design, 
o    Exposure to Commercial business area 
•    Demonstrated experience in leading big Implementations. 
•    Preferably >= 3 years of experience in cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts. 
•    Experience in the pharmaceutical industry will be a plus.

Specific Knowledge

•    Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and instrument software.
•    Deep Understanding of Industrial activity in Life science and GXP procedure.
•    Experience using Jira Software for demand and project management.
•    Agile & Scrum certifications will be a plus.
•    Languages: Spanish and English proficiency.
•    Technical & Functional skills in the assigned Business area.
