POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Leader will be an integral part of the Finance & Accounting team charged with oversight of the critical day-to-day accounting operations, Accounts Payable and Receivable, and oversite of the General Ledger.  The role will have frequent interaction with the Revenue and FP&A team of a rapidly changing pharmaceuticals company.  This role will support the CFO and Sr Finance Revenue Manager.  The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and a self-starter with the ability to work independently, and provide Leadership with timely, meaningful information to assist in decision making.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

ACCOUNTING

  • Manage the monthly/quarterly/year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, adjustments, schedules, report generation, and account reconciliation and analysis
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Interaction with Global Shared Service for Accounting and Treasury, and work cross functionally with all departments as needed
  • Monitor the company’s Cashflow, liquidity and Bank accounts to meet all obligations
  • Work with Auditors (both internal and external) during annual and cycle reviews, develop and apply internal controls where necessary
  • Oversee the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with all applicable tax filings and federal reporting schedules (BEA)
  • Assist with annual Insurance policy renewals
  • Support the Sr Finance Manager for monthly sales reconciliation, deductions, receivables and interactions with our customers
  • Lead and develop the General Ledger and Accounts Payable Specialist 
  • Ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred 
  • Minimum of 5+ relevant work experience with roles of progressing responsibility
  • Required:  Advanced SAP or similar ERP accounting system knowledge; ability to verify, consolidate and enter transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Experience working with electronic invoice management and purchase order systems
  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets, analytical databases and presentation tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the company
  • Dynamic and able to handle complexity and uncertainty in a rapidly changing and growing environment
  • Minimal travel required

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • CPA and/or CMA preferred, candidate must have “public accounting” experience and knowledge or GAAP/IFRS
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including effective business partnering competencies with internal and external stakeholders
  • Desire to develop new skills and support the Finance Team as a whole
  • Leadership or management experience is preferred
