Business Controller Global Commercial Operations - HQ - Spain
Mission
Reporting to the Director of Global Commercial Operations Finance, the Global Business Controller for the assigned commercial subsidiaries (multiple EU MCs + US MC) ensures accurate financial tracking and support. This role involves participating in the decision-making processes, offering financial expertise to guide business decisions at both local and global levels.
Tasks and Responsabilities
- Business Finance Partnering: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making at both local and global levels, aligning financial goals with the company’s overall strategy. Ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting for local subsidiaries, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Financial Closing and Finance Reporting: Monitor P&L of the countries in scope (with focus on Net sales monitoring by Brand, Cost control and profitability), analyze variances, anticipate monthly closures, and support local financial teams in their closing processes as well as other global support areas. Analyze the Finance reports from the countries under your responsibility.
- Short & Long Term Planning: Manage financial planning processes (Budget, Forecast, Last Estimate, 5 Year Forecast) ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines. Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities and challenge the teams.
- Support & Business Understanding: Achieve an advanced understanding of the local businesses for the assigned Market Companies and produce proposals that help local teams meet their budgets achieve operational excellence. Generate ad-hoc reports as required by Local Teams and Global teams.
- Valuations and Business Cases: Assist in the financial modeling and valuation of new projects and investments (organic, inorganic, licenses, partnerships), ensuring they align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Corporate Projects and Ad-hoc analysis: Lead or participate in cross-functional corporate projects, providing financial insights and support to local teams and/or various global departments (Global Commercial Operations, Demand Planning, Global Marketing, Global Market Insights, Global Market Access, New Product Introduction, etc.)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Additional training (MBA or postgraduate degree) is a plus
Specific knowledge
- Advanced user of Power BI and office software (advanced in Excel), desirable knowledge of Hyperion Smartview, and SAP.
- Proactive, analytical, critical, methodical, and organized individual.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders.
- High proficiency in both oral and written English.
Experience
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Controller (Global or Local) and/or in Big Four auditing.
- Highly desirable and positively valued experience in the Pharma/Healthcare sector.
- Proficient in the issuance and analysis of economic-financial reporting.
- Familiarity with the preparation of Business Plans, financial models, and various project valuations.
